Fancy Green Chile BLT Sandwich Recipe

Hi Friends!! Today I am back with another recipe featuring La Brea Bakery Artisan Breads. I’ll start by asking if you have ever had a BLT sandwich? Yes, most likely you have. BUT, have you ever had a Green Chile BLT Sandwich???? If you haven’t, then well you are in luck!! Because today I am sharing my recipe for this class sandwich with a fancy twist. Trust me, this Green Chile BLT Sandwich is soooo good!! And if you looove spicy/hot green chile, then this fancy Green Chile BLT Sandwich is going to have your tastebuds dancing.

With it being full on Hatch green chile season, this is a must try recipe.

But even if Hatch green chiles are not in season you can totally substitute for frozen green chile and perhaps even a poblano pepper or jalapeños. But like I said, its HATCH CHILE SEASON!!! Run to your local grocery story grab some fresh green chile either roasted at the store or you can roast them at home. If you have never roasted green chile, then head to this post here, where I show you how to roast green chiles at home. I personally enjoyed this GBLT with HOT Hatch green chile peppers as it added a nice kick to this classic sandwich. But mild green chiles will also work if spicy isn’t up your alley.

Of course if you really like spicy then by all means try it with an EXTRA hot roasted green chile!

There really isn’t much to this recipe, but to make it a little more fancy I like adding pepper to my bacon slices, to add some extra heat. That part is completely optional or you can purchase peppered bacon and that will work just as well. My favorite way to make bacon is in the oven. It’s far less messy than making it on the stove, and when its raised on the baking sheet, it makes the bacon nice and crisp. For some extra meat you can also use thick bacon slices for these yummy Green Chile BLT Sandwiches.

The next star of this dish is the bread!! You can’t have a good sandwich without a soft and crusty bread. I really enjoy La Brea Bakery Italian Round Loaf for this recipe. It’s so fresh and I can conveniently pick it up at my local grocery store. Just cut your slices, toast, assemble sandwich, and enjoy. This was the perfect bread to pair with this Green Chile BLT. Even on its own its delicious. I had some leftover bread and tomatoes, so I toasted up a slice and drizzled on some olive oil and it was soo good! You can find La Brea Bakery Artisan bread here. Thank you to La Brea Bakery for sponsoring this post! 🙂

I hope you try this GBLT and if you do send me a picture on social media!! I always love seeing your fancy creations.
