Book Launch Event: The Blue Corn Kitchen 10.3.26 at Hope's Frybread in Mesa, AZ

Hi friends!! We have some exciting news now that our second cookbook, The Blue Corn Kitchen: A Navajo Story of Family, Food, & Tradition has been released out into the world, we need to celebrate!! All of you are invited to join our Blue Corn Kitchen Launch Party at Hope’s Frybread in Mesa, AZ on October 3, 2026 from 11am to 2pm.

Palabras Bilingual Bookstore will be onsite with copies of The Blue Corn Kitchen and The Modern Navajo Kitchen for sale. You can also get your copies signed by me at the event. 🙂 And if you already purchased a book you can bring it in. As of right now I don’t have any future events open to the general public for The Blue Corn Kitchen, so don’t miss out! It’s also a good time to start thinking about the upcoming holidays.

We will also have a magical story time at 12pm, where I will read a few excerpts from the The Blue Corn Kitchen cookbook. Because not only is it a cookbook, but it’s also a story about 3 generations of Navajo women. It’s a magical story where you’ll learn about Navajo cooking tools and indigenous ingredients.

It will be like you are at grandma’s house.

There will also be a few activity stations for the kiddos to color and a sensory table to see, smell, and touch these wonderful Navajo and indigenous ingredients. Our friends at Vital Farms will be sponsoring these activity stations so we will also have a fun raffle to win a Vital Farms backpack and hen plushie. The first 50 attendees will also receive a coupon to receive FREE Vital Farms eggs. That way you can get a head start on cooking! 😉 There will also be other fun free treats at event!!

Hope’s Frybread will be making a few dishes from The Blue Corn Kitchen cookbook as well. So please come hungry!! In addition to her delicious Navajo Burgers and Navajo Tacos, she will be preparing Mutton Noodle Stew, Mini Frybread, and Navajo Boba Milk Tea for purchase specially for this event.
