Metallics are an easy way to instantly transform a plain outfit into a “fancy” outfit. I love this trend and I hope it stays forever. Metallics (gold, silver, copper, etc) are a grown up and sophisticated alternative to sparkly glitter. Don’t get me wrong, I still LOVE all things glitter! Metallics just make everything more wearable for everyday fashion and it is far less messy than glitter. This is part 2 of my favorite fall fashion trends. If you missed my previous blog post about Velvet, go read it here.
Lets get started: Metallics
Metallics were a huge trend during the spring and summer and I am so happy it is here to stay for fall. From skirts to shoes, I love a good metallic skirt and shoe! This will instantly transform a simple outfit into an effortlessly glam and chic outfit. My favorite are silver metallics, they are easy to pair with existing items in your closet.
I love a good metallic shoe. From flats to heels, this is the way to wear this trend. Since metallics are neutral in color, you can pair metallic shoes with practically everything in your current wardrobe. I really adore a pointed toe shoe, like these Aldo shoes from DSW, that I purchased a month ago. It was a steal at $19, thank goodness for clearance and sales! Always take a moment to peak into the clearance/sale section of any store, if you dare. Ha! You can often find, current trends in the sales sections. You just have to a little digging. If wearing metallics are new to your wardrobe, metallic shoes are an easy way to pull off this trend. Would you wear a metallic shoe?
If you are feeling brave or you are a true fashionista, then my second favorite way to wear metallics, is through actual clothing pieces, such as skirts, pants, and shirts. Of course my go to, are skirts. From mini to midi skirts, metallic skirts are an easy way to take a simple blouse or sweater, and transform it into an elegant or edgy look, depending on how you style the piece. I really like this soft silver, pleated skirt from H&M that I purchased earlier in the spring. You can pair this with a knitted sweater or a graphic tee and it looks effortlessly chic!
