I’m a cookbook author!

Hi friends!! I know it’s been awhile since I last posted and I hope you are doing well. I have been keeping a secret, that I can finally share with all of you…drum roll….. I have been working on my first ever cookbook!!!

The Modern Navajo Kitchen: Homestyle Recipes that Celebrate the Flavors and Tradtions of the Diné, By Alana Yazzie aka The Fancy Navajo

It will be published in the fall by Quarto Publishing. AHHHHH!!! This has been such a dream come true! I’ve worked so hard on this book which is why I haven’t posted much on here lately.

My publishers just released the cover of the book and it’s sooo GORGEOUS!!! I just love how colorful and pink the cover is. I can’t wait to share more details about the book and some of the behind the scenes. I’ll be sharing pre-order details about the book soon, so stayed tuned for that!!

I also want to say THANK YOU to all of you for all your support over the years. Can you believe its been 10 years since I created, TheFancyNavajo??? Time really does fly by and none of this would have been possible without your continued support and encouragement over the years. So THANK YOU!!! WE DID THIS!!!!!

  1. Congratulations. Best wishes for continued success. I finally paid attention to your last name. Is anyone is your family related to the well known U S Marine Code Talker, Ben Yazzi? I’m a retired Tucson V A Medical Center senior RN. Our V A is a regional medical center where veterans from the far north would be sent for major care or rehab. Those who served as Code Talkers usually wouldn’t volunteer to disclose their “job” in the Marines nor if we asked. They had to really trust their caregivers first. I always felt very honored to serve them.
