Most of you know that I love to cook, but sometimes I need a little help in the kitchen. Some days I have no idea what to make for dinner, and I needed a solution to put my mind at ease. I recently tried out the True Chef Sesame Orange Chicken meal kit. Doesn’t that just make your mouth water? I love Asian food! But I am not very good at preparing it on my own. So, I was excited to give this meal kit a try and I was surprised by how easy and delicious it was to make!
You have probably have heard about other meal kits, so let me tell you about True Chef. Well, True Chef Meal Kits are different than any other meal kit I have seen. Each kit contains all the ingredients you need to make you feel like a, True Chef! You also don’t have to sign up for a pesky subscription service like other online meal kit services. Just add the meal kit to your weekly grocery list and you can conveniently pick it up on your next grocery store visit to your local Bashas’.
The meals are also FRESH and not frozen! Fresh vegetables, sauces, meats, and toppings! The kits are thoughtfully packed into a cute bag that will easily store in your refrigerator. When I opened my kit, I instantly felt like I was on my own cooking show. My counter was filled with fresh carrots, cabbage, snap peas, pre-made chicken with sauce, cashews, and even a pair of chopsticks. The chopsticks were a surprising detail that made me more excited to cook this dish!
I took a look at the recipe card and was ready to begin. The instructions were easy to follow and the prep took less than 10 minutes. I had to boil water for the rice noodles and slice some fresh baby carrots. The next part was sautéing my fresh vegetables in an oil of my choice. I am an olive oil girl, so that’s what I used. Once the vegetables were cooked I added in my precooked chicken with sauce, and then added in my drained noodles. I did a little dance and stirred it all together. Within 20 minutes I was done! It was so easy to use and I felt like I just did magic in kitchen! My house smelled like I was transplanted to a fine dining restaurant.
Once my food was done, I couldn’t help but do a photoshoot with my food. The vibrant colors of the fresh vegetables brightened the dish. Now it was time to taste the food!! I took one bite and my taste buds were dancing around! Not only did it look beautiful, it tasted great! The noodles were cooked to perfection, the vegetables tasted fresh, and the chicken was wonderfully flavored and juicy! I can honestly say this was on par to some of my favorite restaurants that serve Sesame Orange Chicken. It was also very filling and I couldn’t believe how easy it was to use.
I can’t wait to try their other 8 meal kits like their Chicken with Lemon Alfredo and their Citrus Herb Pork. The meal prep for most of the meals are less than 10 minutes and most meals only take 30 minutes to cook! This is perfect for those times when I need to get something on the table ASAP. You can find them at your local Bashas’! Let me know which meal kit you try and send me a picture of how your meal turned out! I would love to see!
